Education and popularisation

An integral part of the Institute’s activity is organising workshops and lectures for secondary-school students and offering tours of our seat in the Collegium Witkowski. Another important activity are classes in the “Lesser-known Kraków” series, organised together with the Dr Henryk Jordan Youth Centre, which include tactile exploration of artefacts, dedicated mainly to blind and visually impaired participants.

In order to meet the challenges posed to the humanities by the increasingly digitalised world, the Institute of History of the Jagiellonian University takes advantage of the modern media in conducting education and popularisation activities. The achievements of our staff (in research and popular science) can be found both on social media and on YouTube, where we publish videos and podcasts prepared by professional historians employed by the Institute.
