Support for students with disabilities

.

The Institute of History actively participates in the efforts to remove barriers to disabled students, initialised by the JU Disability Support Service (DSS) and implemented on a large scale across the University. The Institute’s main building has been adapted to the needs of people with mobility issues. It has a separate entrance on the ground floor as well as a lift and a stair lift, which give unrestricted access to and mobility in the building. The Institute Library reading room has easy access to tables and a scanner reader. Depending on the type of disability, we organise adjusted forms of exams for the students whose disability prevents them from taking oral or written exams. The Institute’s students can receive disability benefits on general terms and apply for adjusted course completion requirements.

dr hab. Wiktor Szymborski is the coordinator for students with disabilities in the Institute.
