Research interest:
Social, economic and political history of Austro-Hungary, with focus on Galicia, World War I, the fall of the Habsburg empire, settlements between the dualistic monarchy and the successive states after 1918; war refugees and forced migrations in modern history; World War I sites of memory, heritage of war.
Research projects:
- Dispensable people in Galicia in the transformation period 1917–1920s (Institut für die Wissenschaften vom Menschen in Wien 2022-2023).
- Heritage of War 1914-1918 (PI in Flagship Project Critical Heritage Studies Hub, 2022-2024)
- Forgotten Refugee Camps in the Austro-Hungary (PI, research grant Sonata 17, National Scientific Centre, 2022-2025).
